.Securing your passwordless public key authentication

 
 
Add this to your .bash_profile:
ssh-agent $BASH
 
Add this to your .bashrc
ssh-add
 
set a complex password for your ssh private key:
ssh-keygen -p
 
 
when you open a new terminal, it is going to prompt you for your secret password once and it will be valid for the whole session, until you open a new shell/terminal.
