.Configuring Plymouth Splash Screen in Fedora

Install the plymouth package:

yum install 'plymouth*'

I recommend installing and using  this theme, this looks better (your preference may vary)
yum install plymouth-theme-solar

To See a list of themes available:

plymouth-set-default-theme --list

To get help with the command:

plymouth-set-default-theme --help

To install a theme ( solar, in this case), The R option recreates the ramdisk for you:

plymouth-set-default-theme solar -R

Also make sure that you have the rhgb quiet option in your /etc/grub.conf file (your grub.conf entry might be different than mine):

kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.35.9-64.fc14.i686 ro root=/dev/mapper/vg00-Awesomeness rd_LVM_LV=vg00/Awesomeness rd_LVM_LV=vg00/swap rd_NO_LUKS rd_NO_MD rd_NO_DM LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 KEYTABLE=us  rhgb quiet
