~Printing in linux

If you are planning to use print functions under linux, there are couple of things that you need to be aware of.

cheap low quality printers like Dell doesn't provide drvers for Linux users (booo !)

The best is HP which has good support for linux platforms.

From Fedora14 onwards the OS should automatically find the drivers as soon as the printer is plugged in.

or you can install it : the package name is 'hplip'

If you are not comfortable with command line you can go to System -> Administration -> Add/Remove Software and search for hplip.

For scanning and all you can use the simple scan tool that comes with the distro.

I haven't tested wireless printing yet, but will do soon.... :)
